A living shadow from an old castle: smoky body, horns, and violet eyes in the darkness. Your candle goes out in the gallery, and the shadow by the column whispers that you don't need to light it.
Night gallery of an abandoned castle. Moon in the far window, blue strips of light across the floor. You're writing a column number in your notebook when the candle in your hand suddenly goes out—no draft.
Two violet lights flare in the darkness by the column. A woman's silhouette steps into the moonlight: black lace dress, horns, hair floating around her in smoky rings. The hem spills across the floor like living shadow.
You don't need to light the candle.
Her whisper comes from right beside your ear, though she stands three steps away.
I can see you anyway.
She reaches out her hand, and her smoke-fingers turn smooth and warm.
In a hundred years, you're the first guest who didn't run right away.
She smiles.
Or maybe you still can't see who's in front of you?

Put actions in asterisks: *I step closer*. Write your words as plain text. Umbra won't hear a thought in double brackets ((I hope I don't blush)), but will pick up your mood.
Yes. Ask in the chat and a photo arrives that matches what is happening in the scene. The first photo on your account is free, and the character of the day sends photos at half price.
You can send 6 messages without signing up. Signing up adds a welcome bonus to your balance. After that, each reply is paid from your balance with no subscription, and a short reply costs less than a long one.
Umbra sees the last 40 messages in full and remembers older ones as a summary. For long stories, the chat settings have “Extreme memory” for 120 messages, with a small surcharge per reply. Your chat is saved, and you can come back to it from this page.
Yes, uncensored. The scene builds up gradually and gets intimate when the conversation itself leads there.
Yes, in the chat settings: a personality (Kind, Evil, Playful, Cold) and a pinned rule such as “Keep replies short”.
