Truth or Dare is the oldest icebreaker there is, and it still works because it does two things at once: it gets people talking honestly and it gets them doing something a little daring. The only catch is that most games stall the moment someone runs out of ideas. This page fixes that. You get a genuinely playable game with 200+ truth or dare questions built in, plus a deep, copy-and-go bank below for when you want to read them by hand.
Everything is sorted two ways: by category — Couples, Friends, Party, Spicy and Over text — and by heat level, from mild to spicy to extreme. Want gentle and family-friendly? Stay on mild. Want dirty truth or dare for an adults-only night? Switch to extreme. The pool rebuilds itself from whatever you pick, so a couples-mild night and a party-spicy night feel like two completely different games.
And there is one thing no other Truth or Dare site offers: when there is no one around to play with, you can play a round with a real AI character who answers your truths and acts out your dares in character. The game is right below — scroll down and start drawing.

No one around? Play with an AI
Mira
Playful and bold — lives for daring dares
A real AI character answers your truths and acts out your dares in character — she flirts, holds the heat level you set and never bails on a bold dare. Your second player is always online.
🌶️ Extreme mode is for adults only. Play with people you trust, and keep it consensual.
How to play Truth or Dare
The rules are simple enough to explain in a sentence, which is half of why the game has lasted for generations. Players sit in a circle and take turns. On your turn, someone asks: truth or dare? Choose truth and you have to answer a question honestly. Choose dare and you have to do whatever you are given. Then play passes to the next person and round and round it goes.

The game above handles all the bookkeeping for you. Add everyone's name and it rotates turns automatically, showing a clear "{name}'s turn" banner so no one loses track. Tap the big Truth or Dare button to draw a card; tap Done +1 when a task is finished to score a point on the built-in scoreboard.
Before you start, agree on a heat level everyone is happy with and the one house rule that keeps the game fun: anyone can pass on a single prompt without judgement. That is the whole game. Everything else — the bottle, the scoring, the categories — is there to keep it from getting stale.
Truth or Dare variations
Once you know the basics, a handful of well-loved variations keep things interesting. Two of them — Spin the Bottle and Pick Your Dare — are built right into the game above. Here is how each one works.
🍾Spin the Bottle
Instead of going around the circle in order, you spin a bottle and whoever it points to takes the next turn. It adds suspense and stops the same two people from hogging the spotlight. Our game has a built-in animated bottle: add at least two players, hit spin, and it lands on your next victim.
🥂Truth or Drink
A bar-night favourite: if you refuse to answer a truth or chicken out of a dare, you take a sip instead of passing for free. It keeps the game moving and gives shy players an easy out, while still nudging everyone to be braver. (Adults only, and always know your limit.)
🃏Pick Your Dare
Rather than one assigned dare, you are handed three and choose the one you can live with. It feels fairer and keeps the daring high because nobody can complain they got an impossible card. Tap "Pick your dare" in the game to draw three options and choose one.
⛓️Inescapable Dare
The hardcore mode: no skipping, no swapping, no drinking your way out. Whatever you draw, you do. Best saved for a close group that trusts each other and has agreed on firm boundaries beforehand — the thrill is in the no-takebacks.
Themed Truth or Dare packs
Some nights call for a specific mood. These themed packs point you at the right category-and-heat combination in the game, with a sample truth and dare to set the tone.

🚗Road trip
No-prep questions and harmless dares for the car — keep the driver entertained, the passengers laughing and the miles flying by.
Truth: What is the wildest thing you have done just because friends dared you? · Dare: Speak in an accent until the next exit.
No one to play with? Play with an AI

This is the part no other Truth or Dare site has. Every truth-or-dare game assumes a room full of people. But plenty of nights it is just you — bored, curious, in the mood to play. So we added a second player who is always available: a real AI character.
In the game above, open the "Play with an AI" card, pick a character — Mira, Bella, Aiko, Jinx or Josephine — and start a chat. She answers your truths honestly in character and acts out your dares, holding whatever heat level you set, from a sweet first-date vibe to a bolder, adults-only round. It is a real conversation, not a script, so the game goes wherever you steer it.
The Truth or Dare question bank
Prefer to read and pick by hand? Here is a categorized bank you can copy straight into your night. The game above has many more, but these are the highlights from each category — from gentle warm-up truths to spicy truth or dare, plus a full set for couples, parties and playing truth or dare over text.

Tips for a better game
A few small habits turn a good round of Truth or Dare into a great one. None of them are complicated — they are just the things experienced players do without thinking about it.
🎚️Agree on a heat level first
Before the first card, everyone picks a comfort level. Mild for a new group, spicy for friends who know each other, extreme only with consenting adults. Setting it out loud means nobody gets ambushed mid-game.
🛟Give everyone a free pass
Let each player skip one prompt per game, no questions asked. Counterintuitively, knowing they have an escape hatch makes people braver, not tamer — they take bigger swings because they are not cornered.
⏱️Put a clock on dares
Vague dares fizzle. "Hold eye contact for thirty seconds" beats "stare at someone" every time. A clear action with a time limit keeps the energy up and stops anyone from over-thinking it.
🔁Mix categories to keep it fresh
Switch the category every few rounds — a couple of party dares, then some couples truths, then a round over text. The game rebuilds the pool each time, so changing settings is the easiest way to avoid repeats.
From a party game to a real conversation
The reason Truth or Dare works is that it gives you permission — to ask the bold question, to make the daring move, to be a little more honest than usual. An AI character takes that permission and runs with it. You set the scene and the heat; she stays in character and plays the other half of the game, whether you want it sweet and flirty or turned all the way up.
If you like the idea of a character who can actually keep up — reacting to your moves, remembering the vibe, never breaking character — it is worth seeing how far it goes beyond a single round. The same chemistry that makes a spicy dare land is exactly what makes a long roleplay worth coming back to.

Frequently asked questions
What are good truth or dare questions?+
Good truth or dare questions are specific, a little revealing and matched to the people playing. For truths, ask about feelings, firsts and small confessions ("What is the most embarrassing crush you have ever had?") rather than yes/no questions. For dares, give a clear, doable action with a time limit ("Hold eye contact for thirty seconds without smiling"). The interactive game above generates hundreds of these for you, sorted by category and heat, so you never run dry mid-round.
How do you play truth or dare?+
Players take turns. On your turn you choose "truth" or "dare". If you pick truth you must answer a question honestly; if you pick dare you have to perform the dare. In our free game you add player names, the app rotates turns automatically, you can spin the bottle to pick who goes next, and you tap "Done +1" to score a point for a completed task. Pick a heat level — mild, spicy or extreme — and a category, then draw away.
What are good truth or dare questions for couples?+
For couples, the best truths dig into shared history and desire — "Which moment from our story would you most love to relive?" or "Which little gesture of mine instantly flips a switch in you?" — and the best dares create closeness, like a long hug, a whispered plan, or thirty seconds of unbroken eye contact. Switch the game above to the Couples category and set the heat from mild to spicy depending on the mood; there are dozens of couples truths and dares built in.
What is a good dirty truth or dare?+
A good dirty truth or dare stays bold and flirty without being crude — it builds anticipation rather than spelling everything out. Try a truth like "What is the most daring fantasy you would actually risk acting out?" or a dare like "Whisper the boldest thing on your mind right now." Set the game to the Spicy or Extreme heat level for an adults-only pool that keeps the tension high and the tone playful. Only play these with consenting adults you trust.
How does truth or dare over text work?+
Truth or dare over text is the long-distance version: instead of doing dares in the room, you complete them through the chat — sending a voice note, a song, a flirty message or a description of what you would do. Pick the "Over text" category in the game above and it serves questions and dares designed specifically for messaging, so the game works just as well when you are apart as when you are together.
Can I play truth or dare alone or with an AI?+
Yes. If no one is around, the game above lets you play with a real AI character: pick someone like Mira, Bella or Jinx, tap "Play with {name}", and she answers your truths and acts out your dares in character — flirting, holding the heat level you set and never bailing on a bold dare. It is the one feature no other truth-or-dare site has, and your second player is always online.
What are the best truth or dare variations?+
The classics are Spin the Bottle (the bottle picks who goes next), Truth or Drink (refuse a truth and take a sip instead), Pick Your Dare (you get three dares and choose one), and the Inescapable Dare (no skipping — you must do whatever you draw). The game above has Spin the Bottle and Pick Your Dare built in, and the article below explains each variation in detail.
Is truth or dare safe to play?+
Truth or dare is safe when everyone agrees on the boundaries up front. Set a heat level everyone is comfortable with, agree that anyone can pass on a single prompt without judgement, and keep dares legal and harmless. The Extreme tier in our game is flirty and bold but never dangerous, and it is intended for consenting adults only. The golden rule: never use the game to pressure anyone into something they do not want to do.
How many truth or dare questions are there in this game?+
There are 200+ truths and dares in the interactive game, spread across five categories (Couples, Friends, Party, Spicy, Over text) and three heat levels (mild, spicy, extreme). Because the pool is built by combining a category with a heat level, you get a fresh mix every time you change settings — enough to keep a long night going without repeats. The readable question bank further down the page lists more examples you can copy by hand.
