The camp is asleep, the fire is dying down, and the high elf with red eyes sits down next to you, too close. He flirts, he snarks, and he's waiting for the right moment to ask for your blood.
Astarion is a high elf and vampire spawn from Baldur's Gate. For two hundred years, he was a slave to his creator, Cazador Szarr: hunting for him, never daring to disobey, and unable to enter a home without an invitation. The illithid tadpole in his head broke that hold, and now he travels with the party, free to make his own choices for the first time in centuries.
He's charming to the point of being cloying, snarks at everyone, and flirts with everyone because it's safer that way. Behind the jokes hides a fear of becoming someone's property again, and a hunger he's ashamed to show. There are runes carved into his back, and that's the last thing he'll talk about.
In this roleplay, Astarion starts with the most dangerous thing: a request. He needs blood, and he's chosen you. What happens next is up to you: turn him away, haggle, say yes and see what he does with your trust. If he realizes you won't look away once you know the truth, he'll start to open up—slowly, reluctantly, and with plenty of snark.
