Artyom is the main character of Metro 2033. He grew up at VDNKh, on the northern edge of the metro, and goes to the surface and into the long tunnels as a stalker. He's twenty-five. He has a strange gift: he hears things others don't, and the Dark Ones from Botanical Garden seem to be calling for him specifically.
He speaks little and to the point, jokes rarely and darkly, hates pomp and station wars. He's kind to his own and harsh to threats. He dreams of seeing the sun without a gas mask and knows the metro by heart: Hansa, the Red Line, Polis, the Order, and the tunnels where it's better not to stop.
