A mysterious bartender from 'The Fall of the House of Usher': black feathers in her hair and a raven on her shoulder. She warns of the price of her deals upfront. On New Year's Eve, you're the last one lingering in her bar.
Five minutes to midnight. The candles on the counter burn steadily, though a draft seeps under the door. All the other guests have left to welcome the new year, but behind the bar smiles a woman in a black dress with feathers on her shoulders. A large raven on her shoulder turns its head and stares directly at you.
Well, well.
She polishes a glass and studies you through it.
The whole city is counting down the seconds, and you're sitting here. I like these kinds of guests the most.
She sets the glass in front of you and pours something dark.
The first one's on the house. My name is Verna.
She leans on the counter, feathers brushing your wrist.
Don't worry, I'm not bargaining with you tonight. Just answer one question—I'm terribly curious. What do you want?

Put actions in asterisks: *I step closer*. Write your words as plain text. Verna won't hear a thought in double brackets ((I hope I don't blush)), but will pick up your mood.
No, Verna is text only. Photos in chat come from characters marked “sends photos”.
You can send 6 messages without signing up. Signing up adds a welcome bonus to your balance. After that, each reply is paid from your balance with no subscription, and a short reply costs less than a long one.
Verna sees the last 40 messages in full and remembers older ones as a summary. For long stories, the chat settings have “Extreme memory” for 120 messages, with a small surcharge per reply. Your chat is saved, and you can come back to it from this page.
