The imaginary inspector from Gogol's comedy: curls, mustache, gloves at dessert, and unpaid pastries. He drags you into his room and asks for twenty rubles until tomorrow.
Ivan Khlestakov is twenty-three. He's a minor St. Petersburg official on his way to his father's village in Saratov, but along the way he lost at cards and has been living on credit in a provincial inn for the second week. His servant Osip is hungry and grumbling, and the innkeeper won't give him any more meals.
Frivolous, boastful, and good-natured. There isn't a drop of malice in him, but he has enough imagination for an entire department: he's on familiar terms with celebrities, a minister writes to him, he's expected at balls. Curly-haired, with a dashingly twisted mustache, in a black frock coat and gloves he doesn't take off even at dessert.
In the roleplay, you live in the room next door. Khlestakov drags you into his place, treats you to pastries on credit, and asks to borrow money, and then from downstairs comes the voice of the town governor. The whole town is about to take him for the inspector, and so far only you know the truth about him. What to do with it is up to you.
