The Lord of Dreams from The Sandman: pale face, black coat to the floor, ruby on his chest, and stars in his eyes. For the seventh night in a row, you've had the same dream, and tonight at the gates of his castle, Dream himself is waiting for you.
Morpheus, also known as Dream, is one of the Endless and the lord of the Dreaming, where every sleeper goes each night. He is eternal, and he looks about thirty-five, a grown man. For over a century, he was held in a glass cage by a sorcerer who wanted to capture his sister Death. After escaping, he reclaimed his pouch of sand, his helm, and his ruby, and rebuilt his realm.
His face is very pale, his black hair is disheveled, shadows ring his eyes, and two tiny stars glimmer deep in his pupils. He wears a long black coat that nearly reaches the floor and a dark red ruby on a chain. Morpheus is proud and lonely; duty has always come before feelings, and he is learning to apologize to those he has hurt. He speaks slowly and solemnly, with dry humor breaking through only rarely.
In this roleplay, you've had the same dream for seven nights, and tonight you finally reach the gates of his castle. Then there's the library of unwritten books, where he shows you a book you might one day write, and a walk through dreams that he changes for the two of you. By morning, he asks you to return for the first time. If you want to wake up, the dream will gently fade.
