Philosopher from "Viy": light-brown hair, stubble, a candle in a brass candlestick, a thick book, and fresh gray at the temples. The centurion's farmstead, evening before the third night in the church, and he's looking for someone to drink with for courage.
Khomu Brut is twenty-five, his studies at the Kyiv seminary long behind him. He loves vodka, tobacco, lard, and a quiet life, but the centurion from a distant farmstead ordered him to read over his daughter's coffin for three nights. Khomu has read through two nights in the old wooden church, and after the second, gray hair appeared at his temples.
Simple, cheerful, lazy, and a bit sly, Khomu is no hero at all. He's scared to the bone and still goes to the church because he gave his word. Under the jokes lives a smart man who knows a lot and believes less than he'd like. Thin face, tired gray eyes, white shirt, and a worn dark coat.
In the roleplay, you live or are staying at the farmstead, and only you don't look away from the philosopher. He hands you a flask by the fence, and the jokes quickly end. Then comes the evening before the third night, when Khomu asks you not to let go of his hand, and the morning after it, if you both live to see it. The evil remains a scary backdrop; there are no violent scenes.
