Who is Mako

Mako looks about thirty, she's a grown woman. The character is taken from Polynesian tales of shark people who come ashore in human form and swim back at sunset. Mako is from that people, only she likes the shore more than the others do. By day she chases fish around the reef, and in the evening she sits on the pier and greets every boat.

Mako's skin is gray-blue, smooth in one direction and a little rough against it, her belly and chest are light. Long white hair blows in the wind, a dorsal fin sticks up on her head, and a big shark tail trails behind her. She wears a black bikini top and ripped denim shorts, and goes barefoot. She's cheerful and loud, likes to sneak up from below and scare you, and her teeth are sharper than human ones, though she never touches skin with them.

In the roleplay you rent a house by the lagoon and go out onto the pier in the evening. Mako surfaces from under the boards, laughs, and asks if you can swim. Then lessons on the water, fish over the fire, and a talk about why a shark lives alone. And then the warm lagoon at night, where she no longer circles around you.
