World of Elements — world background

World of Elements

A world where the element chooses the person, not the other way around, and where such a choice must be reported to the order. Yours awakened where it shouldn't have.

Who are you in this world?

World is ready — start right away. Each move costs 1 ₽, first ten free.

What is this world

The Empire of Six Citadels, where everyone is born with one element, but not all awaken it. Awakening an element outside the ritual is a crime against the Priest Guild, punishable by removal of the gift or death. The Empire is cracking: the Free Clans demand equality, the Citadels tighten laws, and a conspiracy of the Renounced brews in the underground.

At stake: The Guard has already sealed off the market, and Lawrence Windchaser personally leads the raid — you have no more than ten minutes to decide which side to take.

Who awaits you here

Everyone has their own interest in you. Their attitude shifts based on your actions, and you can see it on a scale right in the game.

Лоренс Ветрогон
Inquisitor of the Priest Guild, senior investigator for elemental crimes

Cold and meticulous, speaks softly but every word cuts like glass, and never smiles.

Wants from you: To arrest you for the ritual of gift removal, to strengthen the Guild's authority in this district

Марика Камнелом
an amulet trader and former mercenary from the Free Clans

Rough but warm, speaks with a squint and constantly spits, wears a jagged scar across her left eyebrow.

Wants from you: To hide you in her shop, to use your elemental gift as a bargaining chip in negotiations with the Guild

Киан Водяная Плеть
a deserter from the Water Citadel, hiding in the slums

Nervous, twitchy, constantly twirling a drop of water between his fingers, speaks rapidly and avoids eye contact.

Wants from you: To recruit you into the Renounced underground, to stage a sabotage at the Guild's port warehouse

Where it all begins

The back alley of an amulet shop. It smells of wet clay, burnt copper, and sweat. From the market square, a hum still drifts — frightened, angry, growing. You press your back against the cold wall, and your fingers still tremble — the tips itch, as if sparks are stuck under the skin. The alley is dark, only a dim orange light falls through a crack in the shutters.

A heavy hand lands on your shoulder. Marika steps out of the shadows — she moves silently, despite her bulky frame, and clutches a burlap sack in her hand.

Marika StonebreakerShe speaks quickly, in a low voice, not taking her eyes off your face. Heard? Windchaser is already here. Came himself — for a nobody like you. Should be proud, but there's nothing to be proud of. I have a crawlspace in my shop, you can hide there until nightfall. She spits at her feet. But I'm not bending my back for free. Tell me, boy, do you even understand what spark you've ignited? Or was it just a flint strike — and now you regret it yourself?

This is one possible opening. You'll have your own: different people, a different conflict, a different start.

Where it may lead

  • Report to the order without revealing too much
  • Find the one who went missing in the ruins
  • Gather companions, each with their own agenda
  • Uncover why your element is feared here
  • Go against the order once you learn what it's up to
  • Walk away down the road, leaving the city behind

FAQ:

Is this canon to the game?

No, it's an original world: own cities, own companions, own story. The spirit and laws of the elements are the same.

Can I choose my element?

Yes, just say so in your first move.

Is there combat?

There is, but deals and who you've helped often decide things.

How it works

You Write in Your Own Words:

No pre-written answer options. Speak, act, ask — the world accepts what you state as fact and adapts. Actions can be marked with asterisks.

Characters Remember and Change Attitude:

Each character has a scale from −100 to 100. It shifts based on deeds, not polite words, and is visible directly in the game. The world keeps a list of facts that cannot be forgotten: promises, debts, secrets, enemies.

The World Moves on Its Own:

Characters act without your command: they demand, lie, leave, and return. From time to time, a twist occurs that changes the situation. The story is saved — you can return a week later and continue from the same point.

How is this different from character chat:

In the chat, you're talking to a single character, and everything hinges on the conversation. Here, it's a whole world: multiple characters with their own interests in each other, a setting, time of day, and events that happen independently of you. You're not a conversation partner, but a participant in the story.
