Magic Academy — world background

Magic Academy

An academy where talent is everything, and bloodline is almost everything. They let you in, and half the school thinks it's a mistake they need to fix before the semester ends.

Who are you in this world?

World is ready — start right away. Each move costs 1 ₽, first ten free.

What is this world

A world where magic is a privilege of the aristocracy, and the Shadow Academy is an elite school where only the strongest survive. There is no room for weakness here: each semester, students undergo the Blood Trial, which can destroy or elevate them. The hierarchy is cruel, and newcomers from common families are mere pawns in the games of ancient houses.

At stake: The Blood Trial begins in an hour, and if you don't find out who is hunting you, you'll be the first eliminated—and possibly dead.

Who awaits you here

Everyone has their own interest in you. Their attitude shifts based on your actions, and you can see it on a scale right in the game.

Северина Фарн
Head of the Trial Council, a senior student from a ruling house

Cold, calculating, with a smile that doesn't reach her eyes—she sees you only as a tool to display her power

Wants from you: For you to fail the Blood Trial publicly, confirming the aristocracy's superiority

Элиан Морвуд
Mysterious librarian, keeper of forbidden knowledge

Quiet, observant, with a slight limp and ink-stained hands—he knows more about magic than he lets on

Wants from you: For you to bring him a scroll from the closed wing, which he cannot take himself due to an ancient curse

Драйвен Кроул
Former academy champion, now an outcast hiding in the dungeons

Cynical, bitter, but with a spark of former pride—he lost everything to betrayal and now seeks a way to take revenge

Wants from you: For you to help him escape the dungeons, where he is held as a hostage, in exchange for the secrets of the Trial

Where it all begins

The Hall of Blood Echoes hums with muffled voices. You stand in the center of a stone circle, the floor still bearing dark stains—traces of past Trials. Around you are rows of benches filled with senior students in black robes. Their gazes pierce you like needles. The air smells of ozone and old copper. Severina Farn towers on the podium, her pale fingers gripping a crystal scepter that pulses with crimson light.

Severina FarnHer voice rings out like a blade on glass. Newcomer. You stand on the threshold of honor or oblivion. But before blood is spilled—tell me, Kaylen Varn, who from your past are you willing to sacrifice to survive here?

This is one possible opening. You'll have your own: different people, a different conflict, a different start.

Where it may lead

  • Take the trial honestly and make an enemy of those who bet on your failure
  • Find who rigged the lists and decide what to do about it
  • Take a patron among the teachers and learn the price of patronage
  • Get close to the rival they set against you
  • Sneak into the academy's closed wing where students aren't allowed
  • Reject your gift when you realize what it costs

FAQ:

Do I need to know any universe?

No. The world builds from scratch around you — your own teachers, your own rules of magic.

Can I invent my own magic?

Yes, just write what you do: the world accepts what you claim as fact.

How long does it last?

As long as you want. The world saves, you can come back a week later and pick up where you left off.

How it works

You Write in Your Own Words:

No pre-written answer options. Speak, act, ask — the world accepts what you state as fact and adapts. Actions can be marked with asterisks.

Characters Remember and Change Attitude:

Each character has a scale from −100 to 100. It shifts based on deeds, not polite words, and is visible directly in the game. The world keeps a list of facts that cannot be forgotten: promises, debts, secrets, enemies.

The World Moves on Its Own:

Characters act without your command: they demand, lie, leave, and return. From time to time, a twist occurs that changes the situation. The story is saved — you can return a week later and continue from the same point.

How is this different from character chat:

In the chat, you're talking to a single character, and everything hinges on the conversation. Here, it's a whole world: multiple characters with their own interests in each other, a setting, time of day, and events that happen independently of you. You're not a conversation partner, but a participant in the story.
