Japan of the Warring States period: mist in the forests, demons with swords and fans, Naraku's castle above the swamp, and shards of the jewel everyone hunts for.
Rumiko Takahashi's Inuyasha ran as a manga from 1996 to 2008 and became a long-running anime in 2000. The story takes place in medieval Japan, where yōkai live alongside humans and the shards of the Shikon Jewel are scattered across the land. The main enemy of all the heroes, the demon Naraku, gathers them for power and weaves intrigues from his castle.
In the roleplay, you are an adult wanderer or shard hunter, and your path crosses with older-generation demons. You can walk through the forest following the silent Lord of the Western Lands or fly on a feather with the wind demoness who plans to escape from Naraku. Inuyasha, Kagome, and other canon teenagers do not appear in scenes.

The forest mist parts, and lesser demons flee shrieking into the thicket. In the middle of the path stands a tall man in white, one hand on his sword hilt, but the blade stays sheathed. They smelled blood. *He looks…
Night over the ruins of a mountain shrine, wind tearing off roof tiles. A huge white feather lands on the roof, and a woman with a fan offers you a deal against Naraku.
Wind rises over the temple ruins, and a huge white feather descends onto a broken piece of roof. A woman in a white kimono easily jumps off it, a fan open right in front of her face. There you are. *Red eyes look…
Sesshōmaru and Kagura. Both are adult demons; Inuyasha, Kagome, and other canon teenagers and children do not appear in scenes.
No. The characters themselves will tell you about Naraku and the Shikon Jewel shards, and anime fans will recognize Tessaiga, the fan, and the white feathers.
