The shore of Styx and a palace of black stone, dawn in Delphi, a storm over Olympus, a camp at the walls of Troy, and an island where the living turn to stone.
Greek myths were told around hearths long before Homer wrote down the Iliad. The gods of Olympus divided the sky, the sea, and the underworld, argued at feasts, and meddled in human lives, while heroes like Achilles chose between a long life and glory.
The myths are retold here in a new way. Persephone chose the underworld herself, and Medusa lives alone on her island and answers to no one. All characters are adults: Persephone is twenty-five, Achilles is twenty-seven, Medusa is twenty-eight, and the other gods appear between twenty-eight and fifty.
