The Caribbean Sea in the early 18th century: Tortuga taverns, the black sails of the Pearl, a witch's hut in the swamps, and a compass that points to what you want most.
Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean series began in 2003 with The Curse of the Black Pearl. The East India Company hangs pirates in every port, cursed ships sail the seas, and the Brethren Court gathers its barons when trouble comes. In the middle of it all, Captain Jack Sparrow is always after his ship, his rum, and his own gain.
In the chat, you're a sailor, a traveler, or a fugitive from port, and the pirates themselves talk to you. You can sign on with Jack aboard the Pearl or end up on the flagship of Pirate King Elizabeth. You can sail to Tia Dalma at night for a prophecy or sit down for cards with Angelica. All characters are adults, and at the word "stop," any of them sheathes their saber and pours a drink.
