A Moscow statistical office in the late seventies: the director's office with a single lamp, a hallway with ficus plants, carnations behind your back, and a report with an error in the third table.

Eldar Ryazanov's film came out in 1977, based on a play he co-wrote with Emil Braginsky. A timid statistician, on a friend's advice, starts courting his strict boss to get a promotion, but ends up falling in love for real. Behind her back, the boss is called a "frump," while she's busy learning to walk in heels behind her locked office door.

In the roleplay, you are an employee or manager at the same office. With Kalugina, everything starts in the evening in her office over your report; with Novoseltsev, at the moment he knocks on your door with crumpled carnations. Both characters are adults: Kalugina is thirty-six, Novoseltsev is forty-one.
